Excitation systems for HPP KORKEAKOSKI, Finland

During December 2017, Končar – Electronics and Informatics engineers as a subsuplier of Končar – Generators and Motors Ltd. commissioned new static excitation system type BKN 11E with excitation transformer, for the generator 1 (6,1 MVA) on HPP KORKEAKOSKI, Finland.

The first unit of this power plant was commissioned earlier by Končar in February, 2017.

For the project, KONČAR has designed, engineered, manufactured and supplied the generators and excitation systems along with supervisory services during erection and commissioning.

At the end of the project, the customer pointed out the pleasant cooperation with the whole Končar team.

New Voltage Regulator for motor/generator unit in PSHPP Fužine

As part of the revitalization of the motor / generator unit in PSHPP Fužine owned by the Croatian Electric Power Company, our engineers have successfully commissioned Digital Voltage Regulator type KONreg S1000.

The Voltage Regulator is equipped with all appropriate control and limiting functions providing safe operation of the machine in turbine and pumping mode. The unit is currently in 4 months trial run.

Liquid cooling systems for train propulsion convertors

 

LCS for train propulsion convertors

The company Končar Electronics and Informatics (INEM) is currently executing the contract for the serial production of cooling systems for Hitachi. These systems are designed to be installed in train propulsion converter, as part of the Hitachi project in Scotland. The systems are delivered to the converter factory where the Hitachi installs them into the converter and then so completed supplies them further to its train factory. The total contracted quantity is 150 pieces, whose realization is expected by the end of this year.

This serial production is the result of a successfully designed prototype, realized in 2015. It is important to emphasize that the job was gained in the competition of several specialized European companies from this area. The prototype system involved designing the cooling system, FEM analysis of frame, selecting and procuring all components, assembling and testing. After prototype design, representatives of Hitachi attended the testing in INEM, while INEM representatives were in Hitachi for commissioning and functional testing.
