Uninterruptible power supply systems for Hydroelectric power plant Đale
The company KONČAR – Electronics and Informatics Inc. (INEM) has successfully produced and completed the final factory testing of uninterruptible power supply systems for Hydroelectric power plant Đale as part of the project contracted with HEP Proizvodnja by KONČAR – Power Plant and Electric Traction Engineering Inc..
There are six uninterruptible power systems, one of which is a double redundant system ± 220 VDC each with three modular thyristor rectifiers of the type LH 220V, 50 A and its own central microprocessor control unit. One system of ± 48 VDC will be connected to a system ± 220 VDC via a DC / DC converter, and one double redundant system -48 VDC each with three modular VF rectifiers of type BFS 48 V, 50 A, as well as three AC uninterruptible power systems for supply of all ICT equipment for process and business activities.
Due to replacing the uninterruptible power supply system, the functionality, safety and availability of new control, signalling, protection, measurement, regulation, emergency lighting, IT and telecommunications equipment will be improved, whereby their replacement was foreseen upon completion of the reconstruction of all power supply systems.
Reconstruction of the DC power supply system in TS Rakitje
In March 2019 the Company KONČAR – Electronics and Informatics successfully completed the final factory testing of the DC voltage supply system for the 110/20 kV transformer station Rakitje, Bestovje. The client was the Croatian Transmission System Operator (HOPS), the Transmission Area of Zagreb.
The business activities included manufacturing, factory testing and delivery of three dual-power 220 VDC systems, one dual-system – 48 VDC and three AC distribution cabinets.
The 220 VDC power supply is a conventional type for transmission transformer stations KONIS-B, 220V, 40A, used for supplying the electromotor drives of high voltage and medium voltage switches, control, protection, signalization and emergency lighting. The 48 VDC type, KONIS-B, 48V, 200 A is planned for supplying telecommunication devices and local and remote signalization.
At the end of March, the factory acceptance test and the equipment delivery were performed. The assembly and commissioning of the equipment will be realized during the planned reconstruction of the 110 kV facility in TS Rakitje.
Konreg S1000 type voltage regulators have been utilised for the first time in the UK on the Lynemouth Power Station biomass conversion project (North East England). The station consists of three 155MVA units, all of which are now running with S1000 based excitation systems.
The KONregS1000 based excitation system is single channel for the pilot exciter and dual channel for the main exciter, a total of three regulators per unit. KONČAR – Electronics and Informatics Inc. (INEM) delivered the KONreg S1000 regulators along with engineering and software support; Excitation & Engineering Services (EES) designed and manufactured the overall system.
Commissioning of the first unit commenced in January 2018 and was performed by both KONČAR and EES.
KONČAR and EES worked together to implement new functionality to the S1000 such as the manual restrictive limiter, in order to meet the UK National Grid code requirements.
